Now in its impressive 19th year, the Black Bear Film Festival invariably brings some remarkable features, documentaries, and shorts to Milford, making in the process one of the culture-and-entertainment highpoints of the year. This year’s Film Icon Guest is Jane Alexander, an American author, actress, and former director of the
National Endowment for the Arts. She is a Tony Award winner and two-time Emmy Award winner.
Main Stage Offerings at the Milford Theatre
The festival’s Main Stage is the historic Milford Theatre: a beautiful use of this venerable building, which opened in the second decade of the 20th century as a silent-movie cinema. This year’s Main Stage offerings, as is typical for the Black Bear Film Festival, cover some fascinating territory, thematically and stylistically.
