2009 Fauchère Wine Circle Series
The new, entertaining format of the Wine Circle events will take attendees on a journey through the history, aroma and palatable tastes of each wine that is selected for the evening. Hors d'oeuvres that complement the selections will be served and several of the events in the future will feature special wines paired with prix fixe dinners.
November 7 — VILLA MONTELEONE VALPOLICELLA Hotel Fauchère
5:00pm in the Conservatory, $50
Lucia Raimondi, from Villa Monteleone, will host a special 1.5 hour wine series class. Her winery is in the Valpolicella region producing wines typical of the area — Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone and Recioto. Villa Monteleone's whole production is red and goes from light (Valpo), to heavy (Amarone), to sweet (Recioto). The wines are outstanding — some of the best in the region. Italy's top wine guide, the Gamberro Rosso, just awarded the top score (3 glasses or tre bicchieri) to the 2005 Amarone. This is the first time Villa Monteleone was honored with the highest rating.
